WEDDING SPOTLIGHT | Meyers / Lewin Wedding

The Ultimate Millennium Advantage!

Sunday, June 6th brought the culmination of many days of planning and coordination with some awesome vendors, to produce the perfect wedding celebration for an awesome couple - Justin Meyers and Sara Lewin!

Working with Lisa Zweifel and her team at EventZ Wedding & Event Planning, and with Jamie Reed and Jodie Parker at Ameristar, the Millennium Productions team set out to handle all the detailed aspects of their special afternoon. Special thanks to Kathie Belfield and the all-stars at Memories Are Forever Photography for providing such fantastic images of the day!

Starting with the Décor, the dazzling cake provided by McArthurs Bakery and the gorgeous flowers from Belle Fleur were further highlighted with pin-spot lighting, while the edges of the room were washed with amber and ice blue uplighting. The stylized New York skyline design that Sara and Justin incorporated into their menus and placecards, also made an appearance across the dance floor as a monogram-style projection; allowing the guests to dance the day away in New York City style!

Thanks to the awesome talents of the Downtime Band provided by Millennium Live, there was much dancing to be had! Jon Spindler of Downtime helped with several pre-event planning meetings to ensure the night flowed smoothly. Host/DJ/MC for the event was Jason M. Clyde from Millennium Music. Jason kept all of the guests involved and the dance floor alive by seamlessly transitioning between band and DJ music - One of the key aspects of Millennium's Band/DJ combo.

And speaking of music, the most unique and special part of the event was Sara's 'gift' to Justin, in which she surprised him with one of his favorite bands of all time: The Raveonettes! As Sara expressed her love to Justin at the reception, the Danish alt/rock duo appeared to provide music for the newly married couple's first dance. To say Justin's s jaw hit the floor would be an understatement! You could see the amazement on his face and the love for Sara in his eyes for the remainder of the evening. Even after their first dance, the Raveonettes stood by the head table and played a couple more songs expressly for Justin and Sara, later joining them at the head table for lunch. This was easily a surprising and memorable touch to an already special day.

Of course this day to remember was captured on video by our expert team at Millennium Video, thereby utilizing every facet of Millennium Productions: Décor, Live Music, DJ, and Video. An excellent example of everyone coming together to make Sara and Justin Meyer's special day absolutely perfect!

LAST MONTH'S EVENTS | A Look Back...

Smith / Haselhorst Wedding | St Lukes Church and Bellecourt Manor | Millennium Music & Millennium Video

Saturday, June 19th was filled with hot, humid weather during the day and thunderstorms at night, but that didn't stop Angie and Jon Haselhorst from celebrating their big day with family and friends. After filming a beautiful Ceremony at St. Lukes Church in Belleville IL, I quickly made my way to Bellecourt Manor as I had a "same day edit" video to produce. Luckily, the venue was only blocks away from the church and I got there with time to spare. Brian the DJ with Millennium Music met me at the door and assisted in loading in equipment. As he set up his equipment and prepared for the reception, I started editing footage from the ceremony.

By the time that guests started arriving for the reception, the video was complete and tested for optimal playback. Thanks to Brian, the reception seemed to flow seemlessly and before I knew it, the guests were finished with dinner and Sal from Salvatore Cincotta Photography was presenting a picture slide show of the day. Right after Sal's amazing slide show, we introduced the "same day edit" video as a gift to everyone from the bride and groom. Everyone loved it and the end of the video flowed right into Jon and Angie's first dance as a married couple. Check out the video here!

The guests had so much fun that night that the reception was extended by an hour. The dance floor was still packed when I left, so I know it ended well. I think it's safe to say that Jon and Angie had an amazing wedding experience and I look forward to producing a video that they can cherish and reflect on for years to come!

May / Marrero Reception | Coronado Ballroom | Millennium Design & Millennium Video

On June 5th, Millennium Design created an intimate and colorful evening for Christopher and Shannon as they celebrated their wedding reception at the luxurious Coronado Ballroom.

An elegant sweetheart table with a vibrant silk back drop was the ideal setting for the bride and groom to enjoy their first meal together.

A white "M" (The initial of their last name) was projected on the ceiling above their sweetheart table for all of the guests to see as they entered the room.

The room was topped off with table pin spots to highlight the floral arrangements, and 16 LED uplights to dress the room in an array of purple and turquoise hues.

Seen below: A custom-draped VIP lounge set complete with two 46" flat screen TV's provided the perfect get away from the packed dance floor.

Special thanks to Salvatore Cincotta Photography for providing such exquisite photos!

MILLENNIUM LIVE | Band Feature

Each month we will showcase one of our exclusive bands with a profile. In June we are focusing on Downtime Band (www.downtimeband.com).

Downtime is a professional band in which each member has more than 10 years of performing experience. They play at weddings, corporate events and private parties. Being based out of St. Louis, allows them to travel throughout the Midwest and even nationally very easily. Our goal is to provide fun and professional musical entertainment of all genres to all audiences. With Downtime’s wide variety of music, high energy, and quality sound, everyone will be sure to have a great time.

See what brides are saying:

"Jon Jon Jon,
Where do I start? When I first came in to see you I wasn’t even sure I wanted to have a live band. I thought I did, but wasn't sure. After briefly meeting you (and bothering you to meet with me at the drop of a hat) I knew I had to do it. Somehow meeting with you made me visualize how awesome having live music could be.

You were there for me every step of the way. Checking in, getting back to me promptly (which was huge for me being far away). I felt good energy from you the whole time. I think that translated really well the day of. You were there so I don’t need to explain how amazing the day was - and in large part that is because of you. Somehow it slipped my mind that you would be playing drums. You had told me that, but when I saw you up there I was like OMG that is so cool : )

So thank you. You rocked it. I know I can be demanding - and you met the demand : ) Please know you have my highest recommendation if ever needed!!

Also, thank you for working with the Raveonettes. How cool was that?!"

Best wishes,
Sara Meyers
