Dave Becherer - Solo Pianist
Dave Becherer is one of the top jazz pianists in the St. Louis area, and should be considered for your next Occasion! Dave is known for providing his music services with a high degree of professionalism and flexibility. His piano music is tasteful and creates an atmosphere of class and elegance.
Dave's sets cover a wide range of styles including modern jazz, swing, straight ahead, funk/pop, bossas and ballads.
Background:
Dave began studying piano at the early age of 5. After building a strong foundation through many years of classical piano study, he ventured into improvisation and composition in his early 20s. He obtained his jazz studies degree from Webster University.
Dave has always had a busy performance schedule as a pianist in St. Louis. In the late 90's he collaborated with a group of other jazz musicians and a rapper to form the group Sky Bop Fly. Sky Bop Fly enjoyed tremendous success in the Saint Louis music scene. The band regularly played to very large crowds as a headline act, and opened for other major acts such as The Roots, Average White Band and the Urge. The RFT dedicated a full two page writeup of the band in 96, when they won for categories - Best New Band, Best R&B / Hip Hop, and Best Band to Dance To. In this group Dave developed his sound and gained respect as a great performing musician.

Today Dave is recognized by musicians and audiences as a top St. Louis Pianist. His virtuosic technique and his clear, melodic style makes musicians desire to play with him and audiences love to hear him. St. Louis Pianist - Dave Becherer can be seen regularly with groups and with his own trio around town. Dave also regularly plays private parties, weddings, and corporate events. He also teaches private piano lessons from his home in Ballwin, Mo.
